At Old Shenfield Place, we are applauding the dedication and commitment of three of our longest serving employees.

Several of our staff members at the care home have been with the home for more than 15 years each and have become permanent members of the Old Shenfield family.

Our lovely Beatrice has worked at Old Shenfield Place since 2000. Beatrice switched careers to work in the care sector and has been here ever since. Beatrice seared off as an Executive Secretary and has since progressed within the sector by gaining new skills and knowledge along the way.

Beatrice told us how she fell in love with the home and our residents, she said: “I have a fantastic relationship with all the staff and they have become my family. I can’t imagine ever doing anything else as I believe that care is the best thing that a person can do.”

Another one of our longtime employees, Tessa, started her role as a carer while studying Health and Social Care at Havering college. She said she has never had the urge to look for another job and has been with the company ever since. Tessa said: “Old Shenfield Place and my role as a carer brings me a sense of purpose and fulfilment knowing I have helped people and made their day.”

Everyone’s favourite Marie has been with the home for 18 years and is always relied on by managers to induct newcomers and show them the ropes. Marie takes great pride in her work and likes to set a high standard. A colleague said: “Marie is always ensuring that the residents are always dressed smartly and that the tables in the dining room are presented to a Michelin star restaurant standard.”

All three of our longest serving staff members share a common reason why they have stayed at Old Shenfield Place for so long. They have said that this is the first job role that makes them feel that they are doing something good for others. They also have said that the home has a unique charm that instantly makes one feel like they are at home. The trio have gained lovely friendships along the way and enjoy every aspect of their job.

Newly formed Premium Care Group, who acquired the home in November last year, said that they are extremely proud to have such dedicated people working for their home in Essex. The care group recognises all their staff members and their commitment by showing their gratitude through rewards and benefits. Recently, the staff was rewarded with competitive pay rises, staff recognition parties and ‘employee of the month’ schemes which boost morale and keep staff motivated. Beatrice recently won ‘employee of the month’ and was elated by the news!

Premium Care Group is actively seeking like-minded people and encourages staff to achieve their career goals with extensive training and support from colleagues and management.
