We are pleased to announce that we have received a new interactive touchscreen tablet for our residents to enjoy.

The tablet is manufactured by Activitouch and is a battery-powered, portable device with a 32”/43” screen. It comes pre-installed with a variety of apps and games, including word searches, virtual golf, Google Earth, and Uno.

The tablets are made with toughened glass, adjustable screens, steel bumpers, and are even water resistant. This means they are durable and can withstand the rigours of a busy care home environment.

Residents are using the tablet to stay active, engaged, and connected, and we’re already seeing a huge benefit. They’re also able to use the tablet to video call friends and family members, helping to reduce social isolation and keep them connected with their loved ones. The games on the device are easy to play but lots of fun, also helping to improve hand-eye coordination and cognitive function – something that we are passionate about at Old Shenfield Place.

The staff at Old Shenfield Place are also loving the tablet, and are enjoying the opportunity to bond with the residents over this new tech and taking great pride in showing residents how to use it.
