At Old Shenfield Place, love was in the air as our residents came together to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a grand ballroom lunch and party. The atmosphere was filled with joy and romance as the dining room was beautifully decorated, and talented performers entertained our residents.

DECORATIONS AND AMBIANCE:

To set the mood for the occasion, the dining room was adorned with heart-shaped balloons and a magnificent disco ball. The tables were elegantly laid with fresh white tablecloths, red napkins, and beautiful fresh roses. Love and hearts were in every detail of the decor, with a striking pink and red heart balloon arch framing our Valentine’s banner on the back window. The ambiance was perfect for our residents to immerse themselves in the spirit of love and celebration.

RUBY’S MESMERISING BALLROOM DANCE PERFORMANCE:

One of the highlights of the event was the mesmerising ballroom dance performance by young 9 year old Ruby, a professional dancer. Ruby captivated our residents with her flawless sequence of various dance styles, including the rumba, waltz, Jive, samba, and salsa. It was revealed that she had recently competed in a ballroom dance competition at the iconic Blackpool Tower. Ruby’s eight captivating dance routines, accompanied by stunning costume changes, left our residents in awe. All the costumes she wore were lovingly designed and made by her talented mother, Amanda. As a gesture of kindness, Ruby and her mother also brought in chocolate Valentine’s cupcakes and heart-shaped jelly sweets, adding a delightful treat to the celebration.

ROSIE’S MELODIOUS SERENADE:

The second part of our Valentine’s party featured Rosie, a talented singer who serenaded our residents with romantic songs on her keyboard. Her soulful melodies created a soothing and heartwarming ambiance, filling the room with love and happiness. Rosie’s performance was met with overwhelming appreciation from our residents, who were deeply moved by her heartfelt renditions.

EXPRESSING LOVE AND APPRECIATION:

Our residents were not only treated to captivating performances but also received personalised Valentine’s cards. The lifestyle team and our wonderful Home Manager, Cristina, went above and beyond to ensure that each resident felt valued, loved, and part of our care home family. The personalised cards expressed how important our residents are to us and emphasised the strong bond we share as one big family.

The Valentine’s celebration at our care home was a resounding success, leaving our residents with cherished memories that will last a lifetime. The decorations, the mesmerising performances by Ruby and Rosie, and the heartfelt gestures from our team created an atmosphere of love, joy, and togetherness. We are grateful to have been able to make our residents’ day truly special and look forward to more memorable celebrations in the future.
