A heartwarming Mother’s Day celebration at Old Shenfield Place
This Sunday, 10th March, we hosted a delightful Mother’s Day celebration filled with love, laughter and lots of precious memories at Old Shenfield Place.
The afternoon began with a photoshoot, capturing joyous moments of residents spending time with their families and staff members. The very talented Rose played the piano beautifully, setting the perfect tone for the gathering. Following the photo session, a delicious buffet was served which everyone enjoyed. The room was buzzing as families came together to celebrate motherhood.
Memories made and joy shared
The feedback from the families was overwhelmingly positive. Families of residents Maureen B and K Banville, Pat L Beau, Dorothy Barnes, Stella Hubbard, Peggy Bendix, Beryl Kersey, and Hazel Rainbird all expressed how much they enjoyed the party and the happiness it brought to their loved ones.
The live music proved to be a highlight of the celebration as a family member remarked on how the music selection resonated with everyone, creating a wonderful sing-along atmosphere for residents and families alike.
Celebrating where they feel most loved
Christine Deacon, daughter of resident Pat Le Beau, shared a heartwarming anecdote. She said: “We offered for mum to come home for the day, but she said she preferred to stay at Old Shenfield. We all had a great afternoon; the music was fantastic, with a brilliant choice of songs!”
A day to cherish
Mother’s Day at Old Shenfield was a resounding success! Christina Duran, Home Manager at Old Shenfield, commented, “Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate the extraordinary women who have nurtured and loved us throughout our lives.
“Here at Old Shenfield, we were delighted to witness the special bond between mothers and their families. The smiles, laughter, and cherished moments created will stay with us for a long time to come.”
Just like Mother’s Day, we try to create special moments for our residents at Old Shenfield that they can cherish forever.
