St Mary’s Pupils Share Stories with Residents at Old Shenfield Place

Old Shenfield Place welcomed pupils from Shenfield St Mary’s this week for an intergenerational storytelling session that all residents and children enjoyed.

The pupils arrived with their favourite books and were soon sitting beside residents, reading aloud and showing the pictures as they went.

What began as a simple storytime turned into a morning full of conversation and laughter between all generations. The children read with confidence and residents listened closely and sometimes paused the reading to share their own memories connected to the stories.

For residents, the visit brought fresh energy and the fun of young voices filling the home. For the children, it was a chance to share something they love, spend time with older members of their community and learn from the stories and conversations they heard.
