Resident Shares The Joy Of Christmas - Old Shenfield Place

A resident at Old Shenfield Place is sharing the joy this Christmas by knitting teddy bears for a children’s refuge.

Patricia LB, aged 93, has been a resident at Old Shenfield Place for 8 months where she has continued her lifelong hobby of knitting.

Along with the church community at Ramsden Bellhouse Baptist Church in Billericay, Particia has been knitting and donating toys to the children’s refuge every year for the past five years.

Particia said: “I have knitted over 150 teddies for the church to give to the children’s refuge. It’s lovely as the other residents enjoy watching me and have an interest in my creations.”

Partricia has been knitting since she was just six years old and finds it “quite relaxing”.

Home manager Cristina Duran is extremely proud of Patricia for making such a valuable contribution to the community, she said: “Patricia is an inspiration to us all, she’s so passionate about making a difference to so many children’s lives and is an absolute pleasure to be around.”
